Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is evident that, significant amount of people are visiting well-known places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place. It seems to me that, it is happening because of social media influencers. From my perspective, it is a negative trend this essay will discuss why it is creating a negative impact on individuals.
To begin with, it is widely acknowledged that social media and other digital platforms become an integral part of our life. In addition it is creating a negative impact on youngsters as well as senior citizens by showing artificial world. By seeing this type of content on internet they get inspiration to involve in same type of activities. For instance, if individual saw a edited picture of some place they get influenced by it and copy the same thing to show off same content to increase followers. As a result, this type of development creates a negative impact on young generation stops them in participating in productive skills.
Another significant impact of this trend is it impacts physical health of the residents. This is because spending large amount of time on capturing pictures and editing them can leads to various health issues such as obesity, diabetes and back pain. For example, people who invest significant amount of time on capturing pictures do not move their body and eat whatever is available around them without even knowing the ingredients. As a result, waste valuable time and energy.
To Sum up, Although taking photographs of themselves can impact their progress in the future. I believe that, it also effects the physical health of the individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media influencers and physical health, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the link between taking photos and physical health issues like 'diabetes' is not clearly explained or logically supported. To improve, ensure that your reasons are fully explored with more detailed explanations rather than just listing potential consequences. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more substance to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'As a result'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Furthermore, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by grammatical errors, such as in the second paragraph where the transition from social media to 'productive skills' feels abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that transitions smoothly into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher score. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'significant amount of people', 'negative impact', and 'show off'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'productive skills' or 'invest significant amount of time on capturing pictures'. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions that are relevant to the topic of technology and social behavior, and pay closer attention to natural collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'significant amount of people are' (should be 'a significant number'), 'it is happening because of social media influencers' (the 'it' is slightly ambiguous), and 'can leads to' (should be 'can lead to'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs. Proofreading for basic errors in tense and pluralization will significantly improve your accuracy.
