Student answer (Band 5.5)

in recent year, increasing number of individuals visit famous places around the world with the only intention of taking photographs rather than enjoying location beauty. because of show off only. In my opinion, although taking photgraphs creates memories alubum it is negative effect as it neglected it is appreciation.

one reason is for negative development is people who are influencers, often think about social recognition, and post photos and videos of well-known places, By this, their fans try to immitate them and post same as this celebrities people. In addition, their aim is only visit places for likes and comments only. Due to this, people do not focus on location beauty. Another negative point is, some people are in pressure to show that they are enjoying their current life style but actual they are not

On the other hand, there are some positive aspects too. first and foremost is that, unknown people who does not know about destination they may find enjoyable for them. For example: if someone influencer post about tajmahal they can figure out in which terretory is it and how far from home. Furthermore, this trend can be beneficial for local tourism industry. throught social media many people visit this and this is why tourism industry would generate large amount of revenue.

In conclusion, the incresing numberous of social media and wish of social recognition are the main factors for this negative trend of taking photos.Although this can help to make memories and guidelines for some people, I believe this is totally negative development beause they miss to enjoy actual experience.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear, stating that it is a negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media influencers and the pressure to appear successful, these points could be expanded with more depth. The positive aspects are mentioned, but the argument remains somewhat superficial. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a clear, logical explanation or a more detailed example to fully meet the requirements for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'By this' or 'throught social media'. There are also issues with referencing; for example, 'this' is used frequently without a clear antecedent, which makes some sentences difficult to follow. The progression of ideas is present but sometimes feels disjointed due to the lack of sophisticated linking words. Improving the variety and accuracy of your transition signals will significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'alubum', 'immitate', 'terretory', and 'incresing'. Additionally, some word choices are unnatural, such as 'memories alubum' or 'actual they are not'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations. To improve, focus on learning word families and common collocations related to social media and tourism, and pay closer attention to spelling during your review process.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'unknown people who does not know'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence fragments. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalisation. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage.
