Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why this is happening and whether it is a positive or negative trend. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation for why this is happening focuses heavily on social media influencers, but the argument lacks depth and specific examples. The discussion on the negative impact is somewhat repetitive and vague, particularly the point about 'money for maintaining cost,' which is not clearly linked to the act of taking photos. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and lack logical extension, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin this,' 'Moreover,' and 'Furthermore,' they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'they does not giving any positive message,' where the pronoun 'they' lacks a clear antecedent. The logical flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, making the overall structure feel somewhat disjointed and difficult to follow in places.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. The student relies on basic phrasing, such as 'most of the individuals' and 'famous places.' There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'makes their mind washed' instead of 'brainwashed,' and 'earn capital' instead of 'generate income' or 'monetise.' Some phrases are also unidiomatic, such as 'covering their memories.' While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the reliance on simple, repetitive vocabulary restrict the score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede the reader's understanding. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'they does not giving'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'Looking this statement this negative trend'). The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors, such as 'that why they are not reconstructing.' Punctuation is also inconsistent. These frequent errors, particularly in basic grammar, indicate a lack of control over sentence construction.
