Student answer (Band 5.5)

In these days individuals are taking lots of picture on famous places to make some memories without giving any focus on the view of loaction. In my point of view in these days humans do not have time to make any kind of memoeries for the futhure so thats why the taking pictures rather than enjoying the view but with trend this trend put a negative impact on human lives that I will explain in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, in these days individuals are having busy schedule thats why they are not able to spend quality time with there near and dears so that why they d not make any kind of memories but when they are on vocation then they takes lots of pictures to memorize the time they dressesd up very well because on that time they are free from the work so they enjoy there time with the family members and keeping pictures for fututre and making frames for their houses to enjoy that time. For Example, Most of the couples and young generations doing the jobs to make their life better so sometime they did not met with anybody after so long if they go on fammous places that is the good time to make better rather than their daily life.

On the other Hand, it has a negative impact on the lives because they spend lots of money to buy tickets and paying the rent to know the history and backgroud but if they and giving more focus on taking picture then how they can know about it they just waste their money. For example, In NiagraToronto, there are lots of places to visit and enjoy but if the eople going over there but not enjoying the view then it would not be ok because they are just taking the pictures reather then enjoying the view.

In the end, althouth taking picture and making memories are good but not viewing the place is waste of money . Although individuals are more socialize but if you can visit and watch the view have a different kind of happienes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation for why people take photos—due to busy schedules—is mentioned but not explored with depth. The argument regarding the negative impact is clear, but the examples provided, such as the mention of Niagara, are slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced reasoning and ensure that the connection between your examples and your main argument is more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'For example' and 'In these days'. There are also issues with referencing; for example, the phrase 'that I will explain in upcoming paragraphs' is unnecessary and slightly awkward. The flow between sentences is sometimes interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would significantly improve this score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is a reliance on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'make some memories', 'taking lots of pictures', and 'enjoy the view'. Some word choices are inaccurate, such as 'individuals are more socialize' instead of 'socialized' or 'social'. Additionally, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'loaction', 'futhure', 'vocation' (instead of vacation), and 'eople'. To improve, you should focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring correct spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'individuals are having busy schedule'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'they takes lots of pictures'), and missing articles or prepositions. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are often marred by errors, such as 'if they and giving more focus on taking picture then how they can know about it'. A greater focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
