Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays people tend to visit a new country almost every year .The world has become too small as everybody knows every part of world with advent of internet .Normally before visiting a new place we look for the places to visit there ,good restaurants or eating places famous of that place and their culture .
I have noticed this very new things that people prefer to click photographs on their phone or cameras rather than enjoying the scenic beauty of that place .They more engrossed to see whether their clicked photograph has come out nice or not .They make different pose for camera ,so that they can show people back home that see how gorgeous they looked there .
I think this culture of taking pictures has catched up lately with everyone holding cell phones which has in built cameras and its all time available with you and secondly people are more into show off now ,just to impress or boost others rather than enjoying the serenity of that place .Earlier also people used to click photographs on there cameras but was for just memory sake or some has passion of photography but now its different ,all are into photography that also not as passion but a social updating whether on facebook or instagram .I feel this habit as very annoying as it spoils the mood of other people who are there to relish the beauty of that place .I take this practice of clicking anywhere and everywhere as a negative trend .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the desire for 'show off'. However, the development is somewhat limited. The explanation of why this is happening is clear, but the discussion on the negative impact could be more deeply explored with more specific examples or a more nuanced argument. The position is clear throughout, but the essay lacks the depth required for a higher band score, as the points are stated rather than fully extended.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into three paragraphs, which is a bit thin for a standard essay structure. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the reasons and finally the conclusion, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes mechanical. For example, 'I have noticed this very new things' and 'I think this culture' are used to transition between ideas, but there is a lack of sophisticated linking words or referencing. Paragraphing is present but could be more effectively used to separate the reasons from the evaluation of the trend.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'catched up' (should be 'caught on') and 'social updating'. The writer relies on common, everyday language rather than more academic or precise terminology. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety in vocabulary and the occasional misuse of words limit the score. More precise synonyms for 'show off' or 'annoying' would have improved the quality of the expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'The world has become too small as everybody knows every part of world' (missing articles), 'its all time available' (should be 'it is available all the time'), and 'some has passion' (should be 'some have a passion'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not prevent the message from being understood. A greater variety of error-free complex sentences is needed to reach a higher band.
