Student answer (Band 6.0)
Being an influencer is a full-time career these days, and many people visit numerous places merely to take their photographs. However, this create a pseudo image on the young generation as this is similar as faking your life on social media.
While some critics might argue that everyone has their own priorities and interests. And some people like clicking their pictures and they are not that interested in the environment and nature around. I believe this growing trend is keeping people from actually living in the moment, as people only care about what they are showing rather than what they are actually feeling. This can create a void among people and create a fake image of someone's personality. This can lead to the "hollow-effect", where a lot of people feel empty inside while appearing very happy on socials. For instance, influencers who post many pictures on Instagram and are always travelling leave an impact on young generation that they are missing out on a lot.
Taking only photographs and not actually enjoying the moment, can lead to people feeling empty. Undoubtedly, taking pictures can help you relive the moment and keep memories. But going to a place solely for taking pictures is a bit cliche. Living in a world of photographs, and no real moment can disrupt the connection with nature and eventually with your soul. For reference, taking pictures, editing them and then posting them online without actually living the moment can put you in an endless loop of outside validation. It is shown by the recent number of suicide attempts by influencers.
To sum that up, while keeping photographs is certainly not a bad thing but depriving yourself of actually living the moment and focusing only on photographs can lead to the death of your soul.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout, arguing that the trend is negative because it leads to a lack of genuine experience and emotional emptiness. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly the focus on 'feeling empty' and 'hollow-effect'. While the ideas are relevant, they could be more deeply explored with more varied examples beyond the general mention of influencers and social media validation. The response is well-structured in terms of task coverage, but the depth of analysis remains somewhat surface-level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the cause of the trend to its negative psychological impact. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the sentence fragment 'And some people like clicking their pictures...' which disrupts the flow. Additionally, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. While the overall arrangement is coherent, the internal cohesion within paragraphs relies on repetitive phrasing rather than a sophisticated range of linking words or referencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use more sophisticated terms like 'pseudo image', 'hollow-effect', and 'outside validation'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'clicking their pictures' (usually 'taking' or 'snapping') and 'sum that up' (which is slightly informal). The range is sufficient to convey the message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. The repetition of words like 'pictures' and 'moment' limits the lexical variety.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'this create a pseudo image' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'this is similar as faking' (incorrect preposition). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are instances of sentence fragments that should be joined to the preceding clause. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. A greater variety of error-free complex structures would be needed for a 7.0.
