Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, exploring new destinations are so popular, as a result many individuals visiting to new, unknown locations to click photos. I strongly believe, it has adverse effects on our society. In subsequent paragraphs, I will explain some compelling reasons, why this is happening and highlighting some examples.

First and perhaps the most significant reason is comparison and show case culture. In other words, people spend plenty of their time on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Where they see many pictures and videos posted by their friends and relatives, then after watching these video they also attractive towards those places to create some unforgettable memories with their loved once. For instance, many of them travel to hundreds of miles to catch some photographs to sharing with their friends, even though without knowing the vital history of that place. Thus they are doing all of these efforts to match the social trends with their surrounded communities.

Furthermore, the second reason is, professionals do not having enough time for break. Their time, mental attention is truly occupied by their fast paced, stressful and overwhelming work life. They are spending their most of the time to catch tight deadlines and adding more efforts to improve their job performance. Due to this, whenever they get break from their job they prefer to travel and explore hot spots. Therefore they are not thinking about the traditional significance of the place, they only chooses it for tourism and entertainment perspective.

Admittedly, there are some positive impacts of this trend on our economy, such as access people traveling to these places. It makes these places too crowded and serving visitors in every day boosts tourism revenue.

To conclude, even though people travel to many new places to click photographs and taking entertaining break from work, without showing concern to the indispensable cultural, historical and traditional value of that place. There are many disadvantages of this notion, however, if these drawback could be managed effectively it is creates a major economy benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. You clearly state your position that it is a negative trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the 'social media' point is well-supported, the second point regarding 'professionals' is less clearly linked to the specific act of taking photos without looking at the place. Additionally, the conclusion introduces a contradiction by mentioning economic benefits without fully integrating them into your overall argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph directly supports your main thesis and avoid introducing new, conflicting arguments in the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'First and perhaps the most significant reason', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the phrase 'In other words' which does not accurately introduce the following explanation. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between work stress and the specific behavior of ignoring the site is not smoothly transitioned. Improving the flow between sentences would help the essay read more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'adverse effects', 'compelling reasons', and 'indispensable'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'click photos' (take photos), 'attractive towards' (drawn to), and 'access people traveling' (the influx of people). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on learning natural collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary in a contextually accurate manner.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('exploring new destinations are', 'professionals do not having'), missing articles, and punctuation errors. For example, 'if these drawback could be managed effectively it is creates' contains multiple errors in a single clause. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
