Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, most individuals prefer exposure to popular places in order to capture photographs of themselves rather than enjoying the beauty of the destination. This phenomenon is happening due to the influence of social media; however, I believe that it is a destructive development because it leads to environmental damage.
One of the prominent reasons for visiting well-known locations is the intense pressure of social media, making people post new photos every day in order to gain enormous views, which help them to acquire global popularity and financial growth. For instance, 'Facebook' offers extensive success to their consumers when they post novel images actively while showing different views. Therefore, the digital world inspires inhabitants to upload latest content regularly for impressing their fans.
Despite this practice, I believe somehow this is a negative influence to harm the natural atmosphere. While clicking pictures, chronic rays come from electronic devices, which intensively effect the environment because some places are more sensitive and need careful attention to save them for the new generation in order to teach them about tradition and culture of ancient years. To exemplify, beauty of 'Taj Mahal' is not the same as it was built because of tourism and advanced technology, which affect it adversely. Thus, visitors should avoid to take photographs of remarkable places.
In conclusion, although people are taking photos of famous locations to increase their fan following, according to my opinion, this development has a adverse affect on the environment because of operating technology and tourists ought to cease using them in order to keep the beauty alive forever.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the link between social media and photography is well-established, the argument regarding environmental damage is less convincing and lacks logical depth. For instance, the claim that 'chronic rays' from electronic devices cause environmental harm is scientifically unclear and detracts from the strength of the argument. To improve, focus on providing more logical, real-world explanations for the negative impacts, such as overcrowding or the degradation of historical sites due to mass tourism.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'For instance,' 'Despite this practice,' and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. Referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother to better integrate the transition from social media pressure to environmental concerns. Overall, the structure is coherent and follows a standard essay format effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at more sophisticated phrasing like 'phenomenon,' 'prominent reasons,' and 'adversely.' However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'chronic rays' (which is not a standard term in this context) and 'operating technology.' Additionally, the phrase 'gain enormous views' is slightly unnatural; 'garner significant engagement' would be more precise. While the range is sufficient to convey the message, more precise and idiomatic vocabulary would elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'avoid to take' (should be 'avoid taking'), 'adverse affect' (should be 'adverse effect'), and 'as it was built' (which is grammatically incomplete). While the meaning remains clear throughout, the frequency of these minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on verb patterns (e.g., 'avoid + gerund') and the distinction between nouns and verbs (e.g., 'effect' vs 'affect').
