Student answer (Band 6.0)

Undoubtedly, life on social media looks perfect. So, many people prefer to visit known places just to take pictures instead of looking at the beauty of the place. It's happening only because of the increasing usage of social media in this 21st century. I think it's a negative trend as people just care about the pics and they spend a lot of money on them.

Firstly, people just visit a new place for photos, and they do not care about their own feelings as well as other people's because people go with their friends and sometimes family members but they capture the moments just with the people they think will give them more views and just make a content for others not for themselves which sometimes become of cause of fights between family members and others. So, they should spend a quantity of time with their near and dear ones and enjoy the moments despite just clicking the pics.

Moreover, sometimes individuals spend a lot of money to visit notable places and their precious time as well that they can spend on something important and make a good future. For example, the cost of visiting from British Columbia, Canada to Toronto, Canada is around $350 for two-way tickets, excluding living and food expenses. its inside Canada only if people want to make videos and click pics with nigra fall then it will cost total around $500 minimum which is a lot. So, it's not worth it.

Conclusion, It's not good to spend enough money and time and make bad relations with dear and dear ones just to click photos at well-known places; instead of this, people can look at the place and explore it and get knowledge about that.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying social media as the primary driver and arguing that the trend is negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding family conflict is a relevant point but lacks depth, and the example provided about travel costs is slightly tangential to the core issue of 'not looking at the place.' To reach a higher band, you should focus on expanding the psychological or cultural implications of this behavior rather than focusing heavily on the financial cost of travel, which is a secondary detail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion.' However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed. For instance, the transition between the social media point and the family conflict point in the second paragraph could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'social media,' 'notable places,' and 'content.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of informal or repetitive phrasing, such as 'pics' (which should be 'photographs' in a formal essay) and 'near and dear ones.' To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and avoid colloquial abbreviations to demonstrate a wider and more sophisticated lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with article usage (e.g., 'make a content'), punctuation, and sentence construction (e.g., 'sometimes become of cause of fights'). Some sentences are run-on or lack necessary prepositions. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures will help improve your accuracy.
