Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, taking pictures and memories it's a part of our journey, it's a way to anchor moments that we share with friends, places that we visit, enjoying magnificient meals on restaurants or a show of my beloved star. In reality, it's a good tool if one day i needed to remember what i have been through in a specific year, but there's a dark side on this matter, the moment of filming instants we are neglecting the main moment, main sensations.

A good exemple of that is for people who discover new places or well-known places, once there a huge number of visitors start filming them selfs, taking pictures, videos, starting video calls, showing to the camera that they loved the palace even though they didn't take 5 minutes to enjoy the sculpture or the nature how it's colorful, the historical part of the monument or any aspects of the place. That's show that people are creating some files on phone to memorize the place without leaving the moment, it's a splended trend over the world due to social media effect, sharing on story or a new pub, showing that we anjoy the moment aithout the right sensation of it. One day may be your phone is lost, or you loose your usb of your computer where you put pictures on it, then the question is : so you really enjoy it

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend (social media influence) and expressing a negative view. However, the development is limited by the word count, which falls below the 250-word minimum. The ideas, such as the 'dark side' of neglecting the actual experience, are relevant but lack sufficient depth and supporting examples to reach a higher band. The position is clear, but the under-length nature of the essay prevents a more thorough exploration of the topic, resulting in a penalty for task completion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into two paragraphs, but the structure is somewhat disjointed. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'A good exemple of that is', the flow between sentences is often interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. The logical progression is present but weak, as the transition from the introduction to the body paragraph is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the use of punctuation to link ideas is inconsistent, which hinders the overall readability of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'magnificient meals on restaurants' (should be 'in') and 'splended trend' (spelling error). The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles with more sophisticated expressions. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequent errors in spelling and word choice indicate a limited control over lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that impede communication. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'That's show that people are creating' and 'you loose your usb'. Sentence structure is often repetitive or fragmented, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also problematic, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. These errors are persistent and occur throughout the text, significantly affecting the clarity of the arguments presented.
