Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, which severely limits the development of ideas. While the prompt asks for reasons why this is happening and whether it is a positive or negative trend, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly after introducing the 'cons'. The ideas presented, such as 'time saving' and 'learning photography', are underdeveloped and lack sufficient explanation or relevant examples. Because the response is unfinished and fails to address the prompt's requirements in full, it falls into the lower band range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay attempts to use basic cohesive devices like 'First and the foremost' and 'Secondly', but the overall structure is fragmented due to the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending prevents a logical flow or a clear conclusion. The progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of development, making the text feel like a collection of disjointed points rather than a cohesive argument. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is mechanical.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'namely places' instead of 'well-known places', 'biggeners' (likely meaning beginners), and 'startings of photography'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the presence of errors in word formation and spelling indicate a restricted lexical range that struggles to meet the demands of the task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'It has been acknowledged from given notion', 'This article intend to articulate', 'there are many photographer who clicked', and 'it can helps in clicking'. There is a lack of control over complex sentence structures, and basic errors in subject-verb agreement and pluralization are common. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of symbols like '&'. The range of structures is limited, and the errors are frequent enough to be noticeable throughout the short text.
