Student answer (Band 6.5)
In recent years, Many people have prioritized taking pictures of themselves rather learning about historical and cultural signification of the place. In my opinion, this is a negative approach as today's generation is driven by social media influencers. In the upcoming paragraphs, we are going to discuss about root causes and effect of these trends.
To begin with the main reason behind the rise of this development is social media pressure. People have become more focused on what they want to show other rather than their own happiness. Social media Platforms like Instagram or Snapchat, youngsters prefer to present glamorous life online to gain more popularity, validation from others and, followers. Additionally, smart phones have made photography more accessible that results in capturing eye catching views instantly, rather than looking into cultural or historical value of the place.
Another most contributing factor is social recognition. Some people travels famous landmarks due to its popularity on social media, In another words, they visit simply just to follow the trends going on.
In my opinion, this is largely a negative trend. For example, People often visit places that are more famous on social media and make it crowded at same time, which neglects the beauty of the place and its historical value. Secondly, It increases the mental pressure for peers to gain more popularity and it comes with a lot of trolling as well. People take unrealistic risks just to increase their views and following the trends which leads to accidents as well.
In conclusion, Even though technology had made our life more easier but it brought more risks as well. Capturing moments and creating memories are a part of travelling, But making photography solely a reason to travel is not a positive approach. Famous landmarks and cultural places needs to be recognised for their history as well not only for trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing reasons for the trend and a clear opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the desire for social recognition. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on 'mental pressure' and 'trolling' is introduced but not fully explored in terms of its connection to the core issue of not appreciating the location. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of the consequences mentioned, rather than listing several points briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the causes to the effects. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'In another words' (which should be 'In other words') and the abrupt start to the third paragraph. The referencing is generally clear, but improving the variety and sophistication of your linking words would help the flow of the essay feel more natural and cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'glamorous life', 'social recognition', and 'unrealistic risks'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'historical and cultural signification' (should be 'significance') and 'travels famous landmarks' (should be 'travel to'). While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, these occasional inaccuracies prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on learning the correct noun forms and prepositions that accompany your key vocabulary to ensure your writing sounds more precise and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('People often visit... and make it crowded', 'cultural places needs to be recognised') and article usage ('the' is sometimes missing or misused). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas appearing in several places. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article consistency would significantly improve your accuracy.
