Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation for why people visit places without looking—citing social media influence—is relevant but lacks depth. The argument that it is a 'negative trend' is supported by the idea of 'showing off' and financial waste, but these points are underdeveloped and somewhat repetitive. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or logical consequences to fully explore the implications of this behavior, rather than simply stating that it is a negative trend.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed due to frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the 'reel vs reality' example and the main point is not fully articulated. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, often relying on simple structures to convey meaning. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and spelling errors, such as 'whithout', 'numoures', 'deside', 'vest of money', and 'finice'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations. For example, instead of repeating 'visit places' or 'good places', try using more descriptive terms like 'tourist attractions', 'iconic landmarks', or 'aesthetic locations'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and sentence construction. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper subject-verb agreement, such as 'clicking pictures and make videos are in trend' and 'it lead to show of era'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will lead to immediate improvement.
