Student answer (Band 5.5)

In modern Era people are more attracted towards the well-known places even though they dont have fully knowledge regarding the place. In my perspective this is totally a positive development and we will discuss in detail in further paragraphs.

First and foremost, now a days people like to visit most hype places. This is mostly happening because they do not want others to be stay two step forward from them. They usually have a crab mentality and they also wish to visit the same place as soon as they can. They might have a factors like jealousy, equality and many more towards each other due to which they desires to go on same place as other people do.

In addition to this, some people believe that well known places are well maintained and they are addicted to social media and they want to capture themselves and upload their memories and gain more followers and wish to go at such places. Even people like to do vlogging and some are daily content creator so they want to explore new places in regards to this.

In my opinion, it is a positive trend because there is nothing wrong to go on new places and take your photographs and enjoy every possible moment but the only thing is you should be careful about the rules and regulations of that place and hazards before you reach there and maintain your proper budget also. For instance one of my friend visited to lake of ontario as his cousin visited over there a week before but he did not check the weather conditions and reached there and even he started taking his photographs near the rocks just beside the water and there was a warning sign but all of them ignored it and suddenly a wave came and take him with it so now he is no more, which is really shocking. So your are responsible for your own safety.

To conclude, there is no denying the fact that visiting new places are good for you mental health and relaxing from your hectic schedule but you should take care of yourself and stay safe.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. The argument that the trend is 'positive' is undermined by the anecdote provided, which describes a tragic accident, making the stance confusing and contradictory. While the prompt asks for reasons, the explanation regarding 'crab mentality' is a bit underdeveloped and lacks clear logical flow. To improve, ensure that your supporting examples directly reinforce your stated position rather than introducing conflicting information that weakens your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'In addition to this' is used, but the connection between the ideas of social media addiction and vlogging is somewhat repetitive. Furthermore, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is sometimes abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'most hype places' and 'fully knowledge'. The use of 'crab mentality' is an interesting attempt at idiomatic language, but it is not used in the most appropriate context here. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and avoiding informal or repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range to include more precise topic-specific vocabulary would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include missing articles ('visited to lake of ontario'), incorrect verb forms ('he desires to go'), and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods. Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence construction will help improve your score.
