Student answer (Band 5.5)

People love to visit places, and they feel happy. Many people visit popular locations for capturing photos of themselves in modern times. They visit places without looking at the proper information of particular place. There are some reasons that I will explain in the upcoming paragraphs. It put negative impact on this trend.

People love to visit many places just because of beauty of a particular place. The first reason is the beauty of the place. Individuals go to any location because they love to explore new places and feel happy. One thing people love is the beauty of particular place. They are very interested in this kind of place; after visiting it, they post pictures on social media. They have their own interest in visiting places.

Another thing that I will explain in this paragraphs that it had a totally put negative impact on them. Individuals go to any location without knowing any information of that location. After that, they have to confront problems, which may be harmful to them. For Example, last year my friends visited Banff, that one problem they had to face was that they did not have a hotel because Banff is very popular, so all rooms and hotels were booked. If they had explored before visting. I think they did not have to face this problem. This had a negative impact on them becasue they did not enjoyed trip properly.

In conclusion, many people love to visit places for their interest and the beauty of that place; on the other hand side it has a negative impact on them because information is very important before visiting any place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a negative view. However, the development is limited. The reasons provided—'beauty of the place' and 'lack of information'—are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The example regarding Banff is relevant but is not fully integrated into a broader argument about why people prioritize photography over experiencing the location itself. The position is clear, but the ideas are underdeveloped, preventing a higher score. To improve, you should expand on the psychological or social motivations behind this trend, such as the desire for social validation or the 'fear of missing out'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often mechanical. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'this' or 'that' to refer to previous sentences. Some transitions, like 'Another thing that I will explain in this paragraphs', are unnatural and detract from the flow. The logical connection between the desire to take photos and the lack of research is not clearly established. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrases like 'visit places', 'beauty of the place', and 'negative impact'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. Some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'without looking at the proper information of particular place'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and collocations related to tourism, social media behavior, and the consequences of impulsive travel decisions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include missing articles ('without looking at the proper information of particular place'), subject-verb agreement ('they did not enjoyed'), and awkward phrasing ('It put negative impact on this trend'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate better control over verb tenses, prepositions, and sentence construction. Proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and tense consistency is essential.
