Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, the trend of clicking selfies with the tourists places is proliferating rather than enjoying the beauty of the location. The primary reason behind is, adapting the nature of self-reliant and craziness of the clicking photos. In my view, it is a negative development as it shows disrespect of the artists as well as renowned locations.

There are several reasons of doing this activity by the current mankind. One major reason is, the adaptation of fake life. The individuals prefer to upload the pictures on social media to get views from others rather than enjoy and take a sigh of relief for some moments. Secondly, the people visit the locations for showing -off or to creates the blogs. For instance, there are many well-known places where there are rare person to only sit and enjoy its beauty, as most of them only prefer to capture those moments on phones.

I believe this is a negative development. As they intentionally or disintentionally clicking the pictures of others without their permission. In that sitaution, it may creates the discomfort condition for the families or introvert people. Secondly, this activity also disrespect the scupltures. They can miss many things only by igornance and hurriness.

In conclude, every place play a significant role in the history and culture of the local people. The individuals should avoid to click their photos within a specific area. That action can protect the beauty of those places and the people should also shows the respect towards them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'disrespect to sculptures' is mentioned but not fully explained or supported with a concrete example. The points about 'fake life' and 'social media' are relevant but could be expanded to better demonstrate the impact of this trend. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the 'why' and the 'impact' rather than listing points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'In recent years', 'The primary reason behind is', 'Secondly', and 'In conclude'. However, some of these transitions are mechanical or grammatically awkward, such as 'In conclude' (should be 'In conclusion') and 'The primary reason behind is, adapting...'. The flow between sentences is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally imprecise, which makes the progression of ideas feel slightly disjointed at times. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'clicking selfies with the tourists places' (should be 'tourist sites') and 'rare person' (should be 'few people'). The phrase 'disintentionally' is not standard English. While the writer attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'sculptures' and 'introvert', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on learning more natural collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'The primary reason behind is, adapting...' (incorrect clause structure), 'there are many well-known places where there are rare person to only sit' (subject-verb agreement and word choice issues), and 'this activity also disrespect the scupltures' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction would be highly beneficial.
