Student answer (Band 5.0)

Visiting places to take photos is normally and it is okay for a person to take photos . but the problem visiting it for trend , you should use your money on something make you happy so you have fun and not waste your money . but you can just explore the social media to find new places to discover . people now days always keep on the famous people reviews or loud reviews . this is happening because social media steal a lot of people time . so when a person keeps in internet all day , will make the person to notice and think of the places he heard in the social media and that is not good . but sometimes trends are help full , you can know a lot of things and know a lot of places , and that will increase your discoveries of the world . that also will help you understand a lot of many things around the world , my opinion is the social media was never bad and it was always good , but the human who can use it right and might also use it wrong . For a example may a person use a internet and social media to discover new things like education , learning and gaming . same person can use it in bad things and learn bad things , and can also scam people or black hacking . my opinion is internet is a place you should be care full using it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and offering an opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat tangential. The essay shifts focus from the specific issue of taking photographs at tourist sites to a general discussion about the pros and cons of social media and the internet. The arguments are not well-supported with specific examples related to the prompt's core theme. The position is present but lacks the depth and focus required for a higher band score, as the connection between the initial topic and the broader discussion on internet usage is not clearly articulated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, appearing as a single block of text. This makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'but', 'so', 'because'), they are often used repetitively or incorrectly, leading to a lack of logical flow. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the topic of photography and the general impact of the internet is abrupt. The lack of paragraphing significantly hinders the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple, everyday language. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'keep on the famous people reviews' and 'black hacking'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in collocation and word formation limit the effectiveness of the communication. More sophisticated vocabulary related to tourism, social media, and personal behavior is needed.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'trends are help full'), sentence structure (e.g., 'will make the person to notice'), and punctuation. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly constructed compound sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence forms, and the errors often cause the reader to pause or re-read to grasp the intended meaning. The control over basic grammar is inconsistent, which significantly impacts the clarity of the writing.
