Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many people tend to visit more places where they can take photographs of themselves without looking at at the place. for my point of view, it is a negative trend because instead of looking at place at take photographs.
first of all, it is because of the social media platform like tick tock, Instagram and many other sites. People take pictures of themselves or the place where they have gone to because they want to post the pictures to the social media to gain likes and followers to show other people they have visited that beautiful places. furthermore, in todays era Smartphones have very high quality camaras which makes photos more efficient and presentable and instead of looking that place they take photos.
It is a negative trend because of two main points. First , People are usually looking into the phone rather than looking at the place where they have went they see that landscape or views from their phone so they do not get to know about the beauty or the history about that place. Second reason is this that when people look into their phones and camaras they forget the safety measures of the place they will climb anywhere to get a perfect photo and then some people end up getting hurt and some places have rules and regulations at people ignore while taking photos. for instance, i went to a place where their are a lot of rocks and a lake beside it and that place has rules that do not go on the rocks it is dangerous but people still went on the rock to take pictures of themself and they were not listening to the people who were telling them to do not go their and they were not listening to them.
To sum up, it is not a good habit to take picture of the place instead of enjoying the place and know the history behind the place where you went .it is negative because we have gone to trave their to enjoy and spend time with friends and family not to just take pictures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the quality of smartphone cameras. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second paragraph where the point about not looking at the place is restated multiple times. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more sophisticated and better structured to reach a higher band. The example provided about the rocks and the lake is relevant and adds a personal touch, which helps in supporting the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is some use of cohesive devices like 'first of all', 'furthermore', and 'to sum up', which helps the flow. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. For example, the sentence 'Second reason is this that when people look into their phones' is clunky. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the management of cohesion needs more variety and precision to move beyond a band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'social media platform', 'safety measures', and 'rules and regulations'. However, there are several spelling errors ('tick tock', 'camaras', 'trave') and some awkward collocations ('take photographs of themselves without looking at at the place'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and the student relies on basic phrasing. To improve, the student should focus on more precise word choices and ensure correct spelling of common terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('there are a lot of rocks'), incorrect verb forms ('where they have went'), and punctuation errors. Some sentences are run-on or lack proper structure, such as 'it is negative because we have gone to trave their to enjoy and spend time with friends and family not to just take pictures.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity and impact of the writing.
