Student answer (Band 5.5)
During the modern era, people would more value social reach despite the inner satisfaction. This more influenced by the social media platforms. Everybody like to post pictures/videos online and make engagement with other people with reactions, comments.
Earlier days people visit places to learn lots of information such as how valuable the place is, historic moments which carried with the place. etc. they go and talk with people get more familirize with the place. if needed make some notes. photographs were not main part of that visit. they value most the experince and the knowledge they gathered about that place.
the main reason for the modern day change is availability of too much information. any person can go to a certain web browser and type the name of the place. the person can find everything about that place. I would say information overloaded. there is no reason of worry about the information cause people know they already have the information.
in my opinion this is a negative sign as I am seeing this as another attachment to the mobile phone despite the human connection, socialize with other people. Humans are social beings. They have to interact with each other. If current trend of being isolated is continue we can't see human interactions in the future generations. people will be in the room all day in front of a computer wearing a AI glass and watching the place that they wanted to be in physically. As a final conclusion I would say this is negative trend for the society

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media and information availability as reasons, these points are not fully explored or supported with specific examples. The discussion on the negative impact is clear but remains quite general. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations or concrete examples to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis is currently at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes mechanical. There is a lack of linking words to connect sentences and ideas smoothly (e.g., using 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast'). Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, such as the jump between discussing information overload and your opinion. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of cohesive devices would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate to convey your meaning, but it is quite repetitive and lacks the precision required for higher bands. Phrases like 'make engagement' and 'information overloaded' are slightly unnatural. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use less common lexical items effectively. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more sophisticated synonyms for common words. For instance, instead of 'make engagement', you could use 'foster interaction' or 'generate engagement'. Expanding your range of vocabulary will help you express your ideas with more nuance and clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('the' missing before 'modern era'), verb forms ('Everybody like' instead of 'likes'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple, and there is a lack of complex structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences ending abruptly or lacking proper capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, proper article usage, and incorporating more complex sentence structures will help improve your score.
