Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent days people go anywhere that is popular, without doing research about the place just to take nice pictures for their socials.

Firstly, the reason this is happening is because the youth of nowadays feel there is no need to make research on a popular place they see online because thjey see other youths going there and it has nice aesthetics and which it is good for pictures to taken and for them to post on their social media accounts to have veiws and likes. And as much views and likes they get from the audience from their various homes liking and viewing their pictures on the media that become popoular influencers and which they have the influence to control other people desires to also go to that location and just want to take their pictures and without making reseraches about the place. For example,in my country back home when we see an influencer make a social media post and we see the picture and see the location where the picture is taken is nice and we like it,we just search for the address of the location and just go there without further information about the place.

Secondly, this is a negative trend because these places where these pictures could be higher rate crimes such as raping, kidnapping, kiilling , robberry and so on. When see these locations off influncers or any website because of how good it looks we might not make further enquiry to know how dangerous these areas can be and we just go there and might encounter one these crimes and which might later be a moment for us.

In Conclusion, anywhere we going to take pictures we have to be careful as youths and make researches not just for the addresses but also further information of the area if it is safe to go to.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. The explanation regarding social media influence is clear, but the argument regarding safety could be more nuanced. The position is consistent throughout, but the depth of analysis is limited, often relying on simple examples rather than a broader exploration of the societal implications of this trend. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more sophisticated reasoning rather than repeating the same concepts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'and' to connect long, run-on sentences. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some transitions between ideas feel abrupt. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the internal structure of the sentences often lacks the necessary punctuation and conjunctions to create a smooth flow, which occasionally makes the text difficult to parse.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Words like 'nice', 'good', and 'go' are used frequently where more precise alternatives would enhance the quality of the writing. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'thjey', 'veiws', 'popoular', 'influncers', and 'robberry', which indicate a lack of attention to detail. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures and contains frequent grammatical errors. There are significant issues with punctuation, particularly the lack of spaces after commas and the use of run-on sentences that lack proper subordination. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent (e.g., 'make research' instead of 'do research'). While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the text from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence punctuation and avoiding run-on sentences.
