Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays a large number of people are visiting popular places to take photos, without understanding their importance and history. This trend leds to various negative consequences. The following paragraphs will discuss about it before reaching to a logical conclusion.
There are a significant reasons resposible for this trend. The first and foremost one is people increasingly follow the social media trends. Therefore, they visit well known places to collect pictures to post them on online platforms such as Instagram, Facebook to get more views and likes. For insatnce, a vlogger will make video of a famous place and post it on Youtube to increase subscribers and to earn income. Another important reason is to collect memories. Because of the advent of different electronic gadgets like digital cameras, smartphones offers freedom to individuals to take pictures of themselves to preserve memories. As a result, people take photos and videos of these places to watch them later.
However, this trend has several drawbacks. The first one is lack of understanding about the importance of these places. Famous places are known for their history and cultural context; therefore their main purpose is to learn about the history and special features of these places. However, people just visit to take photograhps and ignore the opportunity to increase their knowledge. In addition this, it also cause pollution. This is caused by increased transportation, waste produced by visitors. Moreover, increased hype of these places also elevate the prices of goods , accomodation and their facilities. Which also becomes unaffordable for local people. Due to all these factors , this trend leads to a negative development.
In conclusion, although taking photographs to collect memeories and provide benefits to locals, increased pollution and other damage to natural becauty of these places should not be ignore.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the desire to preserve memories. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on the negative impacts, such as pollution and increased costs, is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is clear, but the conclusion is slightly abrupt and lacks a strong summary of the main arguments presented. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a more detailed explanation or a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The first and foremost one', 'Another important reason', and 'However'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In addition this' (which should be 'In addition to this') and 'reaching to a logical conclusion'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. The use of referencing is mostly effective, though some minor errors in linking phrases slightly disrupt the natural flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'cultural context', 'vlogger', and 'online platforms'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'leds' (leads), 'resposible' (responsible), 'insatnce' (instance), 'photograhps' (photographs), 'accomodation' (accommodation), and 'becauty' (beauty). These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise word choices and ensure accuracy in spelling, as these frequent slips limit the score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'There are a significant reasons' (should be 'There are significant reasons'), 'smartphones offers' (should be 'smartphones offer'), and 'it also cause' (should be 'it also causes'). Additionally, there are punctuation issues, such as the fragment 'Which also becomes unaffordable for local people.' Despite these errors, the meaning is generally clear. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that all clauses are complete sentences rather than fragments.
