Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 94 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While the introduction attempts to outline the reasons for the trend, the body paragraph is cut off before any meaningful analysis or examples can be provided. The failure to meet the minimum length requirement is a major constraint that prevents the development of a coherent argument or the exploration of the 'positive or negative' aspect of the prompt. To improve, you must expand your ideas with specific examples and ensure you complete the full essay structure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is too short to demonstrate a clear logical progression or effective paragraphing. While there is a basic attempt at an introduction and a starting body paragraph, the lack of development makes it difficult to assess your ability to organize ideas. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and mechanical way, such as 'To begin with' and 'To elaborate it further'. To achieve a higher score, you need to write a full-length essay that allows for the use of a wider range of linking words and a more sophisticated structure that connects ideas across paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'famous places' and 'well-known place' are used, but there is little attempt to use more precise or academic vocabulary. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'every individual visit' (should be 'visits') and 'not even pay attention' (should be 'do not even pay attention'). To improve, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to social media, tourism, and human behavior, and ensure your word forms are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors that affect the flow of the text. For example, 'every individual visit' lacks subject-verb agreement, and 'everyone influenced by the social media' is missing a verb ('is influenced'). The sentence structure is limited to simple or slightly compound sentences, with no evidence of complex structures. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct verb tense usage, and incorporating a variety of complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, to demonstrate greater grammatical control.
