Student answer (Band 6.0)
A trend recently has been noticed that most of the individuals who check out the popular places prefer to take their pictures at those sites, instead of exploring the area. In my opinion, this is due to the increasing influence of the social media in our lives. In my perspective, this tendency has severe negative impacts on someone's life, such as being unable to know the history or related events to that specific area, taking no pleasure from natural landscapes, and over-sharing perosnal life events.
First of all, this drift has a significant drawback that they would be unable to know the historical events related to those communities. One reason to go to a famous ancient place is to recognize the local community, their culture, and their way of living. For example, the Chillas community has their own distinct cultural background and religious festivals. Therefore, one can deprive himself by not exploring the local area.
Secondly, by taking their photograph, one can deprive himself of the pleasure of natural beauty. Moreover, many people in Pakistan visit the northern areas, because of the heavenly, eye-catching countryside.
However, individuals now take less interest in hiking and examining the surroundings.
Last but not the least, this perspective under the influence of modern globalisation has led to over-sharing every event of their life. This is because of the new social apps, like Tiktok, which have easy accessibility and usage. In addition to this, everyone want to have more viewers to get called as the Tiktoker Star. This current has more negative influence on teenagers, because they are not mature enough to know the outcomes.
In conclusion, this increasing trend of not exploring the place, but taking one's own picture has a negative impact. It can cause serious personal relationship problems in the long run. Nevertheless, responsible use of social media can prevent this.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the impact on cultural understanding and the influence of social media are mentioned, the explanation regarding 'natural beauty' is quite brief and lacks depth. The example of the 'Chillas community' is specific but could be better integrated to explain why the lack of engagement with history is a negative trend. Overall, the ideas are relevant, but the essay would benefit from more detailed elaboration to fully explore the implications of the trend.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition to the paragraph about social media is a bit abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the 'Tiktoker Star' point and the broader argument about exploring places could be more tightly linked to maintain a stronger logical progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some good collocations like 'increasing influence', 'distinct cultural background', and 'eye-catching countryside'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'perosnal' (personal) and 'everyone want' (everyone wants). The phrase 'get called as the Tiktoker Star' is slightly unnatural. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise and sophisticated vocabulary to express your ideas, moving beyond basic descriptive terms to more academic or nuanced alternatives that demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There is good control over basic grammar, but there are several recurring errors. Subject-verb agreement issues are present, such as 'everyone want' instead of 'everyone wants'. There are also minor punctuation and article usage errors, such as 'the social media' (should be 'social media') and 'the northern areas' (which is correct, but the surrounding context is sometimes clunky). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy would improve the score.
