Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays it can be commonly seen that numerous people are visiting famous tourist attractions for getting their photographs without having any knowledge of that area. In my opinion this can be seen as a result of following the crowd. I consider it is a positive development and points will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with the constructive development, individuals get to explore and grab more knowledge about the unknown place. Individuals are now more towards current trend so they always prefer what the trend says. Only due to this, most of the population get curious to make beautiful memories of that trip and collecting pictures as well. For instance, a famous Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh recently visited Spiti which is located in Himachal Pradesh. He made such a fabulous vlog that after posting that vlog numerous people visited that place only to post it on social media. As a result, people got awared about that sceneric place.

Furthermore, another point for positive development is that this tendency indirectly brings up a steady increase in economic level of income. To explicate, there are tourists points which are very unique and for visiting that place there is a ticket obligation. People but tickets to gain experience of that area and they click pictures there. For example, Kashmir is not such a rich area. Mostly people are surviving there because of the income they earn from tourists such as in the form of hotel rents, Shikara rides, gandola rides, and many more activities. Hence, sometimes visiting the places without looking those can be a good growth for that area.

To conclude, by visiting those renowned places from which individuals are not familier can help them to explore different places ,and moreover it helps in the nations development as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While the economic argument is relevant, the claim that visiting places without looking at them is a 'positive development' because it leads to 'exploring' is contradictory to the prompt's premise of not actually looking at the place. The argument lacks depth and relies on generalizations. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced reasoning that directly addresses the tension between tourism and the lack of engagement with the destination.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the example of the singer and the conclusion about awareness is slightly abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and supports the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'got awared' (should be 'became aware'), 'sceneric' (should be 'scenic'), and 'ticket obligation' (should be 'entry fee'). While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'tourist attractions' and 'economic level', the range is somewhat limited, and errors in word formation occasionally occur. Focusing on more natural collocations would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'visiting famous tourist attractions for getting their photographs' (should be 'to take photographs'), 'people are surviving there because of the income' (should be 'people survive'), and 'not such a rich area' (should be 'not a wealthy region'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
