Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks about people taking photographs of themselves at well-known places without looking at the location, but the essay discusses the challenges of living alone, financial struggles, and work-life balance. Because the response fails to address the specific topic provided, it cannot be scored higher than a 4.0. Additionally, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which further impacts the task achievement score. To improve, you must carefully analyze the prompt and ensure your arguments directly relate to the specific question asked.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak because the content does not relate to the prompt. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin,' 'Moreover,' and 'However,' but they are often used mechanically or to connect irrelevant ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is disjointed. To improve, focus on ensuring that each paragraph has a clear central theme that directly supports your main argument, and use linking words more naturally to connect related ideas rather than just starting sentences with them.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'develpoing,' 'situtation,' 'formost,' 'perfer,' 'disconcet,' 'axity,' and 'conclued.' The range of vocabulary is basic and lacks the precision required for higher bands. Many word choices are awkward or incorrect, such as 'shed light on this statment' or 'reif their stress.' To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and expanding your vocabulary to include more precise terms related to the topic you are discussing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everyone have to'), incorrect verb forms, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity, such as 'by which people are moving towards the cities for jobs by this situtation.' Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading your work to catch simple errors before finalizing your response.
