Student answer (Band 6.0)
Capturing the moments by taking pictures has become the most common trend in this modernist society. People visit the famous and renowned places for their photoshoot without getting familiar with the place. It has so many reasons behind this. I firmly believe that it is a positive trend which is associated with lots of drawbacks.
To begin with the reasons behind this trend, social influence. The young generation is easily influenced by the content creators on social media. They want to get viral by posting the content on the internet and get some validation from their followers. They are so eager to shoot themselves and ignore the fact that they should have explored the beautiful places too. Secondly, status symbol is the another thing. People want to get fit in this modernization. By going to such places, they can be presentable among society. For instance, people who use the social media for the entertainment purpose will watch their content and inspire from them will automatically help them to maintain their status.
Apart from that it has some negative impacts. Firstly, this process can be very expensive. People from middle class backgrounds can not afford it. As a consequence, it leads to depression, anxiety and isolation. Moreover, people can be image conscious from that. They will not reveal the actual self to the society. People can get distracted and manipulated by these content creators.
In conclusion, exploring different places can be beneficial to expand the knowledge. However, taking pictures without knowing the places can lead to a misleading impression on the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing an opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that the trend is 'positive' is immediately contradicted by the statement 'which is associated with lots of drawbacks,' creating confusion regarding your actual stance. The reasons provided, such as social media influence and status symbols, are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. To improve, ensure your position is consistent throughout the essay and provide more detailed explanations for your arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Secondly,' and 'Apart from that' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the jump from discussing social media influence to 'status symbol' could be smoother. Additionally, the concluding paragraph introduces a new idea about 'misleading impressions' that was not fully explored in the body paragraphs. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that the conclusion synthesises the main points rather than adding new ones would enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'renowned,' 'validation,' and 'modernization.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'get fit in this modernization' and 'inspire from them.' Some phrasing is repetitive, and the use of 'modernist society' is slightly unnatural in this context. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and idiomatic expressions. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic or topic-specific terminology would also be beneficial for conveying your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'is the another thing,' 'can not afford it,' and 'use the social media for the entertainment purpose.' Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions, and practice integrating more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
