Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today’s era, everyone is using social media, from where they get to know about the new places where they can visit and explore without knowing that the places is actually good or not.

According to me, people have to know proper where the are going to visit and spent thier good time there and create alot of memories their while taking photos which help them to recall the movements they created that time in thier past. But sometimes, people just go some places which are not that much good as they heard from somewhere after that they get disappointed that they waste their vacation time that place which is not good. It’s just rumours about the places. I think people have to know about the place where they are going or should book a tourist guide who can help the to know more about the place and why that place is famous and sometimes these guides also suggest some other places that might be they miss while their trip planning .

But,I think something happen for reasons maybe if the places is not that much good to get perfect photos but maybe you will not waste your movement or time on phones meanwhile time to create alot of memorable memories that you can only think and remember while experiencing the feeling not by photos that feelings maybe different but also great.

Overall, both thinks are good but photos play important role in today’s era because maybe its a part life now days that showing on social media thier photos is also important.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying social media as a driver for this trend and discussing whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth, particularly regarding the 'why' and the 'positive/negative' evaluation. The position is not clearly stated or consistently maintained throughout the essay. The conclusion is vague, stating 'both thinks are good' without providing a clear, reasoned stance. To improve, you should focus on structuring your response with a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs for each prompt question, and a definitive conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the transitions between ideas are often abrupt or confusing, such as the shift from discussing tourist guides to the philosophical value of memories. Cohesive devices are used in a very limited and sometimes mechanical way, such as the repetitive use of 'but' and 'because'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') would significantly enhance the readability and structure of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, which limits the expression of more complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'recall the movements' (likely meaning 'moments') and 'something happen for reasons'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey precise meaning, and there are frequent errors in word formation and collocation. To reach a higher band, you should work on expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific terms related to tourism, social media, and personal experiences, and focus on using words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the places is'), tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, making the text difficult to parse. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty, leading to confusion. For example, the sentence 'I think people have to know about the place where they are going or should book a tourist guide who can help the to know more' contains multiple errors. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a good starting point.
