Student answer (Band 5.5)

Currently, a number of people are visiting on attractive spots. Because in the modern era everybody want to upload their pictures on the social media and they mention hashtags to their friends. It has both negative as well a positive effect. I will discuss both in upcoming paragraph.

In the positive way it is good to go outside and explore the famous places, so we know about the history of the site as well we capture images as a memory so we can share with near and dear. With this memory we can also remeber a date and time of our shorts. We can also post a picure on the facebook and write down the description of the location. To visit these places you can refresh your mind from your daily routines and you can elaborate a new culture and make a new friend through the social network. On the other hand, from a negative review some people think that it is totally showoff to click the images and visiting the site without knowing any knowlege, it is waste of time and money. Most of the time it is just a building or view without any background history and on the famous site, it has more chances for the robbery.

In conclusion, it is good to visit the attractive areas because in the hectic schedule people are frustate and they want a brake from work, so they should visit these places to refresh their mind and explore the world and capture a memories.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why people take photos at famous sites and whether this is a positive or negative trend. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided for the trend (social media validation) are relevant but briefly stated. The discussion on whether it is positive or negative is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'robbery' is introduced but not fully explored. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or specific examples, ensuring that the connection between the behavior and the impact is clearly articulated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. While you use some cohesive devices like 'In the positive way' and 'On the other hand', these transitions are sometimes awkward or grammatically incorrect. The logical progression is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument smoothly. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms such as 'good', 'nice', and 'things'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'shorts' (likely meaning 'shots' or 'snapshots') and 'elaborate a new culture'. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of errors in word formation prevent a higher score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to tourism and social media.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'everybody want' (subject-verb agreement), 'without any knowlege' (spelling), and 'people are frustate' (incorrect adjective form). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and impact the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, such as verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, will help improve your score.
