Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, the trend of capturing photographs in the renowned places has significantly increased. The main reasons for this trend is, the perception of uploading posts on social media and give more importance to collecting moments. I believe this is a negative development because it demonstrates the disrespect of that place and people loose the opportunity to learn and observe the actual beauty of that area.

One major reason of this activity is, people mainly prefer to post their photos on social platforms. This is because they want to let others that they have visited these locations, so they gain more views, and likes. For example, there are numerous people visited Niagera Fall in Canada and click their several photos only post and save for the memories. In addition to this, taking photographs is also the reason of preserving the moments as a memory. So, in future, they can easily recall their journeys.

However, this is not positive trend. The primary cause is, it does not show the actual respect towards that place which it is actual deserving. As there are various religious places in India which have the high spirituality and purpose of this establishment is only take blessings and feel peaceful but often ignor its value and endeavor to capture the best scenes and posts. Furthermore, there are many places which has the exceptional beauty. While due to neglience of the individuals, they loose the opportunity to enjoy those moments.

In conclusion, although taking the photos assist a person to collect the memories. while this activity has more drawbacks in well-known places. So, it should be limited, as it does not effect on the beauty as well as the value of that place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed both parts of the prompt by explaining the reasons for the trend and providing a clear opinion on whether it is positive or negative. Your position is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention social media and memory preservation, these points could be expanded with more depth regarding the psychological impact of 'performative' travel. The example of Niagara Falls is relevant, but the discussion on religious sites in India is a bit general. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting arguments are fully explored rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In addition to this', 'However', and 'Furthermore', to link your thoughts. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as the use of 'while' at the beginning of the final sentence in the conclusion, which creates a fragment rather than a cohesive link. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the purpose of this establishment is only take blessings', where the connection to the previous sentence could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'renowned', 'perception', 'spirituality', and 'negligence'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors that hinder precision. For example, you write 'give more importance to collecting moments' instead of 'prioritizing the collection of memories', and 'does not effect on the beauty' (should be 'affect'). There are also minor errors in word form, such as 'loose' instead of 'lose'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The main reasons for this trend is', 'there are many places which has') and article usage. Some sentences are grammatically incomplete or poorly structured, such as 'As there are various religious places in India which have the high spirituality and purpose of this establishment is only take blessings'. These errors occasionally make the reader work harder to understand your intended meaning. Increasing your control over basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your score.
