Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this contemporary world. Most of the people are visiting famous places just to take photographs of themselves instead of experience the destination. This trend is significantly increasing because of social media influence and smart feature of mobile phones. In my opinion this is a negative trend which reduce the significance of the tourist places.
To begin with, social media attention is the main reason for people to take photographs at well-known destinations. In other words, nowadays many people are posting photographs of themselves with various places to get attention of their followers, friends or fans. As a result, individuals visit famous places to take photographs rather than learning about the culture, history or importance of the place. Also, people have smartphones with high resolution camera features, it allows them to take high-quality of photographs and share on various social media platforms. For instance, last year I visited Toronto Museum that time I noticed that masses are taking photographs with monuments instead of reading history.
I believe this is a negative trend because it may reduce the importance of the famous tourist destinations. To elaborate, when people are visiting various places to take photographs they cannot enjoy the places and they spend most of their time in finding great angle for photos, which may reduce affect the other tourist as well.
In conclusion, people are taking photographs of themselves at various places to upload on social-media sites to get popularity among follower, I opine that people should learn importance of the well-known places, cultural values rather than focus of photographs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and your opinion on whether it is positive or negative. Your position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention social media and smartphone technology, the explanation of why these lead to the behavior could be more deeply explored. The example of the Toronto Museum is relevant but brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully extended with more detailed analysis or broader implications.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'In other words,' and 'To elaborate,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the connection between the rise of smartphones and the specific behavior of ignoring the destination could be better linked. Referencing is generally clear, but ensure that pronouns and cohesive markers are used with more variety to improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary,' 'significance,' and 'monuments.' However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'reduce the significance of the tourist places' (which should be 'diminish the significance') and 'high-quality of photographs' (which should be 'high-quality photographs'). You also repeat certain words like 'photographs' and 'places' frequently. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations to show a greater level of lexical flexibility and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'instead of experience the destination' (should be 'experiencing'), 'this is a negative trend which reduce' (should be 'reduces'), and 'masses are taking' (should be 'many people' or 'tourists'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments like 'In this contemporary world.' Increasing your control over subject-verb agreement and verb forms will help improve your score in this criterion.
