Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays most of the peoples are visit to the popular places but they are just focus on take the pictures of them instead of looking at the place. it happens because of social media era they just want to post their picture on social to show that they are visit at that place. This is a negative trend for them.

The first reason is sometime peoples are plan a tour on historical place because they saw that place on a social media platform as someone post their picture so they also want to go there. When they visit there they just focus on take pictures of them so it is negative for them as if in their life when they listen about that place so they have some memories and some knowledge about that place to instead of only pictures. For example if someone ask them about that place to saw their picture so they have something important to tell them instead of just show their picture.

The second is according to survey in 2018 it is a negative trend for peoples to only focus on taking pictures on every place. In that survey they go on the historical places to talk with their group of peoples who run that place so in that survey most of concerns about peoples are visit on their places but they do not want to know knowledge about that place as peoples said they have do many of things on place for peoples when anyone visit so they provide that but no one want to.

In conclusion, It is negative trend so peoples need to focus on that what they are doing as visit on any place for make some memories instead of take pictures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation for why this happens is somewhat repetitive, focusing primarily on social media validation. The second paragraph attempts to use a survey as evidence, but the argument is unclear and lacks logical flow, making it difficult to follow the point being made. To improve, you should provide more detailed, distinct reasons and ensure your examples clearly support your main arguments rather than just stating them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes mechanical (e.g., 'The first reason is', 'The second is'). There are instances where the connection between sentences is weak, particularly in the second paragraph, where the reference to a 'survey' is confusing and lacks a clear link to the preceding or following sentences. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the same words, such as 'peoples', 'place', and 'pictures'. There is a lack of variety and precision in your word choice. For example, 'peoples' is used incorrectly as a plural for 'people'. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including collocations and less common words related to the topic, such as 'digital validation', 'cultural heritage', or 'superficial engagement'. Currently, the limited range restricts your ability to express complex ideas effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of the peoples are visit'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'focus on take the pictures'), and missing articles. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'instead of only pictures' or 'as if in their life when they listen about that place'. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralisation, before attempting more complex structures.
