Student answer (Band 5.0)

Most of people like visit very famous and well-known places. They want to enjoy their lives with their partners and family members. Most of time they are busy in their busy life styles and they do not have time to spend with their lovely once.

Yes, nowadays it become a trend to collect more pictures of themselves and post them on social media. They forget the value of that place like it is a historical or a religious place. They do not enjoy like they should be. According to me, people become more social person to show off. They believe in show-off things to others.

This is happening because they want to spoil their journey. In another words, they do not know how to celebrate the life in different place. Here we cannot talk only children but their parents also do the same. In fact they also do the same, they do not play with their kids and do not teach the importance of different places.

Surely, this is a negative trend for some instant because in this way we forget our freedom, our peace of mind, and refresh to us in a natural place. We become a slave of our mobile phone and social media. I do not say that taking pictures is very bad but it should be in limit. We should give preference to enjoy more than collecting pictures. Firstly watch the places and after that you can collect memories of that place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a clear negative stance. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For example, the explanation of why this happens is vague, stating that people 'want to spoil their journey' and 'do not know how to celebrate life', which lacks logical depth. Furthermore, the response falls just short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task completion. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of the psychological or social drivers behind this behavior, such as the desire for social validation or the impact of digital culture.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical and sometimes confusing. For instance, the transition 'In another words' is used incorrectly, and the connection between the desire to visit places and the act of 'spoiling their journey' is not clearly linked. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'In fact', the overall progression of ideas feels disjointed. To achieve a higher score, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that logically leads to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'well-known places', 'collect more pictures', and 'show-off'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'social person to show off' and 'in some instant'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and idiomatic expressions related to technology, travel, and social behavior. For example, instead of 'collect pictures', you could use 'document their experiences' or 'curate their digital presence'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it become a trend'), article usage (e.g., 'in different place'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'refresh to us in a natural place'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency to improve your accuracy.
