Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this era, people usually visit to places but they do not enjoy visiting over there but, they just focus on clicking the memories on a camera or mobile phone with looking at the place. Honestly, this is happening due to trend of posting pictures on social media. It is truly a negative trend, as due to this people are not able to enjoy those moments.
One of the major reasons why people are clicking the photographs is to post their memories on social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. This is because they want to pretend in society that they are updated in terms of technology, social media, and fashion. Indeed, they are interested in filming the luxury lives and want to make their hype in front of friends and strangers. As a result, people do not feel relax even after returning from vacation. Indirectly, this trend affects on brain as person is not able to feel the vibe of change on vacation.
Moving further, it is truly a negative trend. Clicking pictures always and not to spend personal time or with family may result in loosing the relations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a clear negative opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits the development of ideas. The arguments provided, such as the desire to 'make their hype' and the impact on relationships, are relevant but remain superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. To achieve a higher band, you must expand your points with detailed explanations and concrete examples to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into three short paragraphs, which provides a basic structure. There is some attempt at logical progression, using transition signals like 'One of the major reasons' and 'Moving further'. However, the cohesion is often mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. For instance, the transition between the social media motivation and the impact on the brain is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear idea with smooth transitions between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'visit to places' and 'clicking the photographs'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'make their hype' and 'filming the luxury lives', which sound unnatural. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. Focus on learning word families and collocations to ensure your word choices are more accurate and sophisticated in an IELTS context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'visit to places but they do not enjoy visiting over there', 'affects on brain', and 'not to spend personal time'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and sentence construction. Aim to reduce the frequency of errors by proofreading your work for basic grammatical slips before finishing.
