Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks about people visiting well-known places to take photographs without looking at the location, yet your essay discusses the general pros and cons of technology and online communication. Because you did not address the specific question asked, the response fails to meet the requirements of the task. While you have written an essay about technology, it does not answer the 'why' or the 'positive/negative' trend regarding photography and tourism. To improve, you must carefully read the prompt and ensure your ideas directly relate to the specific scenario provided rather than writing a generic essay on a related topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Therefore', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, because the content is irrelevant to the prompt, the overall coherence is undermined. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is mechanical, and the referencing is sometimes unclear due to the lack of a central theme that connects to the actual task. To improve, focus on ensuring that each paragraph develops a specific point that directly supports your main argument regarding the prompt's topic.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You use basic terms like 'positive aspects', 'negative impacts', and 'valuable source'. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'thesedays', 'realtionships', 'pricious', and 'weaking'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey simple ideas, it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on very common, everyday language and struggle with accurate collocations. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms, such as using 'relationships' instead of 'realtionships'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'In thesedays, individuals utilizing more technological devices...', which lacks a main verb. You also have errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'it sometimes lead to misunderstandings' and 'it loss their pricious time'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofread your work to correct common errors in tense and pluralisation.
