Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing a clear opinion. However, the essay is under the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. The arguments regarding peer influence and economic benefits are relevant but remain somewhat superficial. The final paragraph is incomplete, ending abruptly after an introductory phrase, which prevents a full development of the supporting example. To reach a higher band, you must ensure all arguments are fully extended with specific, complete examples and meet the minimum length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Therefore', and 'Moreover'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending of the final paragraph disrupts the flow of the argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, complete structure that leads logically to the next point.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning. You use some topic-specific terms like 'peer influence', 'content creators', and 'tourism'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'for capture themselves' instead of 'to capture themselves' and 'travel is become easy' instead of 'travel has become easier'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simple, repetitive structures. Expanding your range of collocations and synonyms would help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('a people who spends', 'flights are become cheaper') and incorrect verb forms ('resulted in improve'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. To achieve a higher band, you need to focus on consistent control of verb tenses and sentence construction. Proofreading for basic errors in articles and prepositions would also be highly beneficial.
