Student answer (Band 6.5)
At present, A number of individuals prefer to visit famous places to take pictures and videos of themselves rather than to learn about those particular places. In my opinion, this is a negative trend because it can reduce people's interest in the history and cultural significance of these destinations.
Nowadays, people are influenced by social media platforms and wants to share their photographs on online platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok etc. Famous places make people's picture and videos more interesting and attractive. Therefore, to gain popularity, engagement and more likes on their content they prefer to visit renowned destinations over less-famous attractions. Additionally, travelling to well-known and expensive destinations create a sense of luxury and status. For instance, many young travellers visit popular landmarks mainly to take Instagram-worthy photographs rather than to learn about their historical or cultural importance.
I believe this is a negative development for several reasons. Firstly, Most off youngster are visiting places simply to take photographs, without gaining knowledge about their historical and cultural significance. Secondly, A bunch of people are just exploring well-known places and they miss out on other less-known places tat can be equally beautiful and interesting. Lastly, nowadays people are too concerned about taking and uploading content rather than enjoying their vacation. for example, lot of people visit Niagara falls just to take pictures and videos, instead of exploring the surrounding attractions or learning about the history of the area.
To conclude, Visiting well-known destinations is becoming downward trend. People should travel to particular destination where they feel relaxed and they can enjoy their free time rather than just focusing on clicking pictures and uploading them to social media platforms.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the desire for status. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the points about 'historical significance' and 'taking photos' are restated in multiple paragraphs without significant new depth. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the implications of these trends rather than repeating the same observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Firstly', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the phrase 'Visiting well-known destinations is becoming downward trend' in the conclusion, which lacks a clear connection to the preceding argument. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the use of cohesive devices could be more varied and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'cultural significance', 'renowned destinations', and 'engagement'. There are some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'A bunch of people' (too informal) and 'downward trend' (used incorrectly in the conclusion). Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'tat' instead of 'that'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on more academic collocations and avoiding informal phrasing would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people... wants to share', 'travelling... create a sense', 'Most off youngster are') and article usage (e.g., 'a downward trend'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing capital letters after periods and incorrect comma usage. These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization would be highly beneficial.
