IELTS Writing Task 2 question

More and more people nowadays visit well-known places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place.

Why do you think this is happening?

Is it a positive or a negative trend?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary era, people often visit at many tourist places just to take some photographs of themselves without even doing research on that place. In my opinion this is negative trend, as people have to be aware of any places before visiting, to take the idea of it and get to know better about the places they are going.

On the one hand there are few people who like to visit places without knowing and just to click random photos and put it in social media that they are going for a trip at this place, they did not like to do planning about anything they are going, as i feels this is very fascinating as i don't like this way. Furthermore to plan your trip can give you a proper roadmap and one can also search about the history of any places and find the reason that why it is a place that many people like to visit and often called as tourist places. One of my cousin have been with me a few months ago while we were on a trip to udaipur, so we visiteed the famous tourist place called The City Palace, which is known for a famous ancient King and his collection of many different unique things, So at that time my cousin was only busy in taking photographs just to post it on instagram and show off himself, while after a few minutes I told the complete history of this palace and he found it very much interesting and eventually he also mark one of the best real story and notedown this in his diary. As by knowing about the place, he actually feel the places vibe and it hardly takes a few minutes to search because nowadays anyone can search about their places in any AI platforms and it can answer very precisely and to the point.

On the other hand people like to visit places which are viral by the celebrities photographs who had been there and visited. Recently one famous bollywood actor named Hrithik Roshan, visited the Taj Mahal and post it on social media and after a day or too there are so much crowd are going to taj mahal just to take random candid photographs with the monument, without knowing anything about the places, which is not looking good at all.

To summarize I believe people have to be aware of the places they are going to visit and do proper research on that places rather than going for just to take few photographs.

While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they limit the precision of your argument. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would be beneficial.
