Student answer (Band 6.0)
In todays world many people like to go at famous spots to get their photographs, even if they do not know about the place. I will discuss further either this is positive or negative trend in my further paragraphs.
On first hand side, this is happening because of social media. As we know in todays world every individual have their own phone they us instagram, facebook and snapchat. wherever they go they just click the picture of the spot to show the people they are now at this place and enjoying. They also click their own photo and post it on social media.
On the other hand side, this is negative trend according to me. Firstly, when they click their photo and post it on social media on the same time. This is not good for their privacy and safety. By doing this they are sharing their location where they are right now. Secondly, less idea about the place where they are going sometimes they visit at the place they do not have any idea. Mostly, in the pictures the place look nice as compare to when they actually visit at that place and they have to come back with lot of disappoints.
In conclusion, people like to go at random and beautiful spots to post to at social media. But, this is not a good trend as a concern for their safety and sometimes the place is also not good enough. They should ask someone who already visit at that place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding social media is clear, but the discussion on the negative aspects—specifically privacy and the disappointment of visiting underwhelming locations—could be expanded with more depth or specific examples. The position is clear throughout, but the overall argument lacks the sophistication required for a higher band. The conclusion is brief and repeats points already made rather than synthesising them effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'On first hand side', 'On the other hand side', and 'In conclusion' helps guide the reader, although some of these phrases are slightly unnatural or misused (e.g., 'On first hand side'). Referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences within paragraphs can be a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is logical, but the transition between the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of the trend could be smoother to improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'nice', 'good', and 'place'. Phrases such as 'click the picture' and 'go at famous spots' are repetitive and slightly unnatural. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary related to social media, the range is limited. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of synonyms to avoid repetition and add nuance to their arguments.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('every individual have their own phone'), incorrect preposition usage ('go at famous spots', 'visit at the place'), and awkward phrasing ('disappoints' used as a noun). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence structure, such as fragments or run-on sentences. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band.
