Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this modern world, taking a photographs have become part and parcel of everyone's life.

Although pictures are important to save memories but, not enjoying the background view its fail to visit new place. According to my view this is happens because of social media and showing there status to each other. I feel that this is the negative trend. In these upcoming paragraphs we will discuss the reasons and negative effects.

The main reason is that social media, these days mostly people spend their free time on social media such as, facebook, instagram and whatapps. Where they can see everyone's life what is happening everyday. So whenever they go any new place for site seeing then they start clicking photos so that they can also upload on the social accounts. As a result, they forgot the important of place and history. They just show there presence not actively watching the site seeing.

According to my opinion, this is a negative trend because people forgot to history of famous buildings and well-known places. They just busy in the social media life instead of get knowledge about popular places.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify the reasons (social media) and your position (negative trend), the arguments are underdeveloped and lack depth. You mention that people use social media to show their status, but you do not elaborate on the psychological or cultural implications of this behavior. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples or detailed explanations to reach the required length and provide a more comprehensive analysis of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the flow of ideas is often disjointed due to limited use of cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are sometimes missing or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'so' or 'because'. The logical progression is hindered by the brevity of the response. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally functional but limited in range. You rely on basic terms like 'important', 'good', and 'bad', and there are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'its fail to visit new place' and 'site seeing' (which should be 'sightseeing'). There are also errors in word choice, such as 'forgot the important of place' instead of 'importance'. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'digital validation', 'cultural heritage', or 'superficial engagement'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('taking a photographs have become'), incorrect verb forms ('this is happens'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly. Practicing the use of relative clauses and conditional sentences will also help you demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
