Student answer (Band 5.5)

Taking pictures at different location is one of the most debatable topic, whether it is photography of well- known places or photography of person itself. The main reasons of taking photos by in individuals with background at famous place is to increase their presence on social media. Nonetheless, In my opinion , it is completely justified because of sharing information and promotion of well- known places.

There are many reasons as to why people prefer to click their pictures rather than look at the place where they visit. Firstly, earning money with content creator is most easiest way as they upload their photos on social media with different and attractive background which attracts the viewers attention. Therefore, individuals visits to various locations for their photography as compared actually looking at the place.

Furthermore, every place has their importance and it is unacceptable if people visit to certain places just for their pictures without knowing the history of place. The argument stems from the fact that , nowadays, people only care about their preferences and find the way to earn money owing to which they forget the importance of places. Hence, people should grab some knowledge when they have chance to visit well- known.

Although, it is true that every individuals have their own experience; however, it is important that government should make some law and restrict photography at famous places.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and offering an opinion on its nature. However, the development is limited. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which restricts the depth of the arguments. While you mention social media and financial gain, these points are not fully explored with concrete examples. Furthermore, your position is slightly contradictory; you initially state the trend is 'justified' for promotional reasons, but later argue it is 'unacceptable' and suggest government restrictions. This inconsistency makes your overall stance unclear. To improve, ensure you meet the word count to allow for more thorough explanation and maintain a consistent position throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'Hence'. However, the flow between ideas is sometimes mechanical or abrupt. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is weak, and the final paragraph is very brief, lacking a proper concluding summary. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'without knowing the history of place', where an article is missing. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'content creator' and 'social media', but there are issues with collocation and word choice, such as 'earning money with content creator' (should be 'as a content creator') and 'most easiest way' (a grammatical error in superlative form). There is also some repetition of phrases like 'well-known places'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to tourism, digital culture, and cultural heritage, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles ('visit to certain places', 'history of place'), incorrect pluralisation ('every individuals'), and awkward phrasing ('the main reasons of taking photos by in individuals'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve your accuracy.
