Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary era, people are more focused on the trending social media updates and the latest technologies. Increasingly, they visit famous tourist attractions to click more photos of themselves rather than learning about the area. I believe that this statement has both negative and positive impacts.
On one hand, people are upgrading them with advanced technology which help them to earn money based on efforts and skills rather then categorised on the basis of gender, age, racial discrimination, or cultural difference. By posting pictures and short videos on youtube, instagram, tiktok, and facebook, even small kids and teenagers have millions of subscribers. Moreover, famous brands collaborate by providing free items to celebrities to advertise their products and grow their profit margins.
On the other hand, children are spending more time on creating content which distract their focus from studies. Due to this other children's copy the content to gain followers and once they are unsuccessful than they become depressed. In future, it can be a cause for the mental health and adaptation in younger generation's growth and behaviour.
At the end, screen time should have a time limit for kids and adults and should be motivated to play outdoor games and communicate in person to build confidence and strength. People will also learn the importance and purpose of their life and train their children to respect and serve the society

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and discussing its nature. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The discussion on the 'positive' side focuses heavily on social media influencers and monetization rather than the act of visiting places itself. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the argument. To improve, you should expand on why people prioritize photography over the experience itself and provide more balanced, relevant examples that directly relate to the prompt's core theme of tourism and cultural engagement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in your argument. However, the transition between ideas within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt, and the concluding paragraph is quite brief, lacking a strong summary of your position. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly connects back to the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era,' 'collaborate,' and 'profit margins.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'upgrading them with advanced technology' (should be 'upgrading themselves') and 'adaptation in younger generation's growth.' The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to tourism, social media, and psychological impacts to enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'help them to earn' (should be 'helps them earn'), 'rather then' (should be 'rather than'), and 'Due to this other children's copy' (should be 'Due to this, other children copy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with missing commas in complex sentences. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing articles or prepositions.
