Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, selfies and photographs are becoming more important for the people. Many people visit famous places and take pictures, without taking safety. In my opinion, click the photos are good way to capture memories, but some times it can lead dangerous or life threatening conditions. This essay will discuss both negative and positive effects, and reasons behind this trend.
On the one hand, nowadays many people visit some well-known places in their leisure time with family or friends. Many young people are very excited to go to famous places and click photos, because they want to capture their happy moments, however, it is good way to explore happiness. They feel confident and proud while taking the pictures. For instance, many college students visit the good places and take the photos, as they become more happy and they show it to their parents.
On the other hand, sometimes this trend create many difficult situations. Many people just take photos blindly without checking the dangerous places or conditions. Furthermore, young people always take their pictures at any places, For example, river site, on the mountains or at the fort. But sometimes people dig in river or fall from the mountains, if they just busy with clicking photos and do not take the safety measures. For instance, many people died at Mumbai sea, as they go deep into the water.
To conclude, taking pictures are providing good memory and happiness to the people, if people take proper safety precautions. But people cannot ignore the drawbacks of it. Thus, negative effects is greater than the positive effect.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that people take photos to 'capture happy moments,' this could be expanded with more depth regarding the psychological need for social media validation. Similarly, the negative aspect is supported by examples like the Mumbai sea, but the argument remains somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, ensure that your reasons are fully extended with more nuanced explanations rather than just listing examples. Your position is clear throughout the essay, which is a positive aspect of your task response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'To conclude' to signal shifts in your writing. However, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between sentences in the second paragraph feels repetitive, as many sentences start with 'Many people' or 'Many young people.' To improve, try to vary your linking words and use referencing (e.g., 'this practice,' 'such behavior') more effectively to connect your ideas more fluidly rather than relying on simple conjunctions.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'leisure time,' 'safety measures,' and 'life-threatening conditions.' However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'click the photos' (should be 'taking photos') and 'dig in river' (which is unclear). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you rely on simple, repetitive phrasing. To improve, focus on learning more precise collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'taking pictures are providing,' 'negative effects is greater') and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'click the photos are good way'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage in complex sentences. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
