Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays the trend of photography is increasing day by day. And people like to visit well known place to take picture of themselves, without exploring the place. I think its happening because of soical media and its a negative trend. I would like to explain about this in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, In todays world the usage of social media is really increasing. People like to post new pictures and videos on social media platforms like on instagram, tiktok and youtude on daily basis. They want to become famous and earn money through this platforms. And for that they need to post contant daily . They need different contant for that. So for that reason they visit well known places to take pictures to engage their audience in there contant. When the post new pictures of different places thier views and reach increase and they gain more following and views.

I think its a negative trend because they are only visiting that place to make contant not to learn about that place. which i think is not good. Moreover when the post pictures of new locations on daily basis it leave negative impact on the audience who can not visit that place because of finacial and other reasons . For example recently i saw a news that one village girl from poor family was influced by one social media influencer who visit new place and countries and post pictures of that. the girl demaded to her parents to visit those place but when her parents refused that wish she blacked her parents and end up giving her life.

To conclued, i would like to saw that visit well known place just to take picture is not good and might impact other people as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, particularly the focus on social media validation and the pressure to create content. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example provided regarding the village girl is quite extreme and lacks a clear logical connection to the broader argument about visiting places for photography. To improve, you should aim to provide more balanced, analytical support for your arguments rather than relying on a single, anecdotal, and highly specific narrative. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis could be enhanced to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'To conclued'). Additionally, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion; for example, the transition between the discussion of social media and the personal anecdote is abrupt. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the flow between sentences could be smoother, and the range of linking words needs to be more varied to avoid a formulaic structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive, particularly the word 'contant' (which is also misspelled as 'content' throughout). You use basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'increase' frequently. To achieve a higher score, you should attempt to use more precise and sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'aesthetic appeal', 'validation', 'superficial', or 'digital footprint'. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'soical', 'youtude', 'finacial', 'influced', 'conclued') that, while they do not impede communication, indicate a need for more careful proofreading.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the quality of the writing. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'they need to post contant daily'), article usage (e.g., 'one village girl from poor family'), and tense consistency. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas and capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will significantly improve your score.
