Student answer (Band 6.0)
In modern generations, people are becoming more obsessed for social media appearance. Nowadays, many individuals travels to well-known places to capture pictures of themselves without exploring the place. Both the positive and negative views will be elaborated in further paragraphs with a personal opinion favoring the particular trend.
Firstly, if it is considered a positive trend then the idea includes of being able to hold a successful and attractive social media platform like Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. These types of application are encouraging people to upload images, videos, reels, snaps and stories however, these type of postings influence many people who is connected to their profile and it will lead to increase in followers and they will celebrate in such happy moments.
On the contrary, there are of the public who are stalking their accounts. For example, in news there was an incident where a daughter posted in the Instagram mentioning, " Day 1 at Manali. Summer Vacation For 10 Days". As soon as the thief view her update, they robbed the house entirely which was a negative impact of posting everything and everywhere in the social media. Also, if we visited to someplace, we will be focusing on taking photos and videos of everything and do not enjoy that place in real.
In Conclusion, the negative aspects is more than the positive ones. And I believe that enjoying the place is more important than taking the photographs of it. For the memory, one or two pictures are enough and living in the moment is the real treasure. Hence, I think it is the negative trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout, particularly in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation for why people do this is brief, and the example regarding the theft in Manali, while relevant, is a specific anecdote rather than a broader analysis of the trend. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the psychological or societal drivers behind this behavior, such as the need for social validation or the 'fear of missing out' (FOMO), rather than focusing solely on the risks of social media.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'On the contrary', and 'In Conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'if it is considered a positive trend then the idea includes of being able to'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'there are of the public who are stalking their accounts', which lacks a clear subject. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'obsessed' and 'elaborated', but there are also persistent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'obsessed for' (should be 'obsessed with') and 'if we visited to someplace' (should be 'if we visit a place'). The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but more precise and varied vocabulary would be needed to reach a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many individuals travels', 'these type of postings influence many people who is connected'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing ('the negative aspects is more than'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
