Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era, it became the trend among most people that vsiting a new places and click pictures to show to the public eventhough they are not interested in looking at the place this is affecting the people in a negative manner more than the postive manner.

To start with, positive side the people who capture the photos while visting a places whether it is a famous or not when they put it on their social media like Instagram, facebook many other came to know about that places because social media has more influence on people than any other things. Secondly, it became a memory for the most people. People can remember the happiest and saddest moment of life if they caputure the picture which will be their wityh them for a lifetime. Thus we consider this as postive trend.

On the other hand, it has otherside as well, which is negative if a person visiting any place and click pictures without knowing about the history of that place they will forget about their culture and roots. Culture is an important aspect of everyone life everybody should well aware about their culture heritage. For instance India is rich in culture if anyone just go their for clicking the pictures and not aware about their culture than people cannot relate eventhough it is posted on social media.

In my opinon, it has more cons as people are wasting their precious time and they have no privacy. In this modern world people must keep their secrets. The technology is improving very fast AI is becaming very dangerous. For example if I post my picture on social media without knowing about the palce AI will store all my information anybody who knows hacking can do fraud with my pictures and social media account. So it proves taht it has more negatiev side.

In concluion, I can say before visting any palce do the reseach of that place than only go and click the pictures over their.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding AI and hacking in the fourth paragraph is tangential to the core topic of photography and tourism, making the link to the prompt weak. While a position is stated, the supporting arguments lack depth and clarity, particularly in the explanation of cultural heritage. The response covers the requirements but would benefit from more focused, relevant examples to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. While cohesive devices like 'To start with', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand' are used, they are often followed by sentences that lack clear internal structure. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas feels disjointed, particularly when moving from the discussion of culture to the unrelated topic of AI security. Paragraphing is present but the internal coherence within paragraphs needs significant improvement.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic structures. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'vsiting', 'caputure', 'wityh', 'palce', and 'negatiev'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of control over word forms and the reliance on simple, sometimes inaccurate, terminology prevents the response from achieving a higher score. More precise academic vocabulary is required to discuss the topic effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('it became the trend', 'AI is becaming'), missing articles, and run-on sentences. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to confusion. For instance, the opening sentence is a long, unpunctuated fragment that makes it difficult to follow the writer's intent. While simple sentences are generally understandable, the persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation significantly impede the fluency of the text.
