Student answer (Band 6.0)

Now a days people started to follow the latest trend which is visiting the well-known place in order to take photos, without even knowing or researching about the place. In my opinion this has both the positive and negative effects.

Firstly, by visiting the well-known place we can find out why the place is so popular among the world or the country for example if some is visiting the park at the different city, they will able to find out by themself whether, the place is as good as the people says. Another positive think is that with that popular place we also get a chance to visit new place which might not so well-known but it has it own beauty.

Furthermore, this will also help full in the economy of the place, city, state or the country. For instance when we visit well-known place it will increase the business for local vendors like food stole owner, their local market, and this will eventually play role in the economy of the place and help the small business to grow. More over, when we post something about the place it will become more popular.

On the other hand, when we all visit the well-known place, it will affect there local public, for example they face more traffic problems, it will also affect their works. Another point to notice is that if we visit any place without doing research about the place it will sometimes harmful for ourself, like if some has celiac allergy, and we are not aware about that place does not have any gluten free products to eat and it can lead to medical emergency.

In conclusion, i can say that visiting well-place has both positive and negative effects.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'celiac allergy' as a reason for not visiting places without research is a bit tangential and does not directly address the core issue of 'taking photos without looking at the place.' The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific, well-integrated examples. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the psychological or social motivations behind this trend, such as the influence of social media validation, rather than focusing on logistical issues like traffic or food allergies.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'Furthermore,' and 'On the other hand' to signal the structure. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition between the economic benefits and the social media aspect in the second paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'with that popular place' which does not clearly link back to the previous point. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'well-known place,' which appears multiple times. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'help full in the economy' (should be 'helpful to the economy') and 'food stole owner' (should be 'food stall owner'). While the meaning is clear throughout, the lack of sophisticated or idiomatic language limits the score. To improve, try to use more varied synonyms for 'popular' or 'well-known' and focus on accurate collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('they will able to find out'), article usage ('the park at the different city'), and punctuation errors. Some sentences are run-on or lack necessary articles, such as 'it will eventually play role in the economy.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb forms would significantly improve your accuracy.
