Student answer (Band 6.0)
People nowadays travel to popular places to take photos of themselves which I believe is positive but considered to have disadvantages as well if the beauty of the place itself will not be appreciated.
Firstly, photographs serve as our memories. It can be captured from any gatherings, life accomplishments, travel experience and many more. However, in the current generation, it is now most common to do during travel especially for young individuals through mobile phones or camera that can be purchased or even rented. They usually take a picture of places, foods, and things they are unfamiliar with. I believe this positive as it encourages people to try new places, cultures and meet the local people. In addition, this will boost tourism which is beneficial to the economy.
Moreover, one common reason why people is doing this is because of the effect of technology where people collect good pictures to post on their social media platforms to make their personal account presentable, and the motive of sharing such experience to a large audience.
On the other hand, there are disadvantages entail to taking pictures during travel. For instance, you will not truly experience the culture of the place and you may missed some important events and moments that are necessary to try adding to the experience.
Overall, taking pictures to places will serve as memory that we can take with us throughout our years but without looking to the real beauty of places is something that a camera can never replace on our hearts and memory.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media and tourism as reasons, the explanation remains superficial. The discussion on whether it is a positive or negative trend is present, but the arguments lack depth and specific examples. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or illustrative examples. For instance, explaining how the 'fear of missing out' (FOMO) drives this behavior would have strengthened the analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'However', 'In addition', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. The referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The conclusion summarizes your position, but it repeats some of the ideas from the body rather than synthesizing them effectively. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'social media platforms', 'tourism', and 'cultures'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'disadvantages entail to taking pictures' (should be 'disadvantages entailed in') and 'without looking to the real beauty' (should be 'without looking at'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and less common vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range of expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'one common reason why people is doing this' (subject-verb agreement error: 'are doing'), 'It can be captured from any gatherings' (incorrect preposition), and 'you may missed' (incorrect verb tense: 'may miss'). These errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage.
