Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, people are visiting well-known places and taking photographs. I firmly believe that this idea has a positive impact on the society.

It is crystal clear that social media highly affects the individual thinking process. Social media platforms like tiktok, instagram highly affect people day to day activities. For example I remember one I ended up to visit Taj Mahel after watching the reels.

This type of approaches are highly beneficial for local businesses. As every one has been using the social media platforms and get attracted to the places and decide to visit there. As a result employment opportunities would also increases as local businesses needs more employer to work.

Furthermore, it would also increases the tourism. In todays world people all care about showing their wealth and prospective they do not concern about the location and transportation time. As tourism increases it will automatically escalates the revenue. Recent, survey shows that Japan one of the most populated country depends on tourism revenue. Likewise, we could use the platform to spread the awareness. For example, local businesses are using social media to advertise their product online.

Personally, I do not believe that the approach will have any negative affect if we take something under considerations. Like, restrict the phone screening time. For instance, people are facing the obesity very often. Moreover, before uploading be mindful as some pictures might affect youth. Most important,

Taking above points into consideration, I believe taking photographs of themselves without looking at the place will provide personal satisfaction and joy. As social media is the platform watched by everyone so before posting be mindful.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying social media as a driver and arguing that the trend is positive. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention economic benefits, the connection between taking photos without looking at a place and 'personal satisfaction' is not clearly explained. The argument that this trend is positive is somewhat undermined by your own contradictory points about obesity and the need to be 'mindful' of youth. To improve, ensure your supporting arguments directly link back to the core premise of the prompt and maintain a consistent stance throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is sometimes disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'Likewise', others are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'Recent, survey shows' or the abrupt transition in the final paragraph. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the overall structure and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'employment opportunities' and 'revenue'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'This type of approaches' (should be 'these types of approaches'), 'most populated country' (when referring to Japan's tourism), and 'negative affect' (should be 'negative effect'). There is also some repetition of basic vocabulary. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you distinguish between commonly confused words like 'affect' and 'effect'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'As every one has been using the social media platforms and get attracted' and 'local businesses needs more employer'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for basic grammatical slips to improve your accuracy.
