Student answer (Band 5.5)

Travelling to tourists places is becoming trend among peoples. Folks visit the places , clicking picture and upload on internet rather than enjoying the real beauty of that place. It has a negative effects which i will describe in upcoming paragraphs.

Firstly, there are number of reasons why its happening. They visit the places and have the pictures on there then they upload on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and other online platforms. Uploading picture on internet make them famous among their friends and family and as well they can show off that they have been visited these places. Secondly, with the help of this they can earn good money if there picture or video would get like in millions.

Moreover, its has negative trend. When people visit these places just because of picture they do not enjoy the real beauty of that place and when they recall their memory they get only limited memories related to that places. Apart from that when they visit these places just because of capturing they do not get any information related to that places. For example, Last month we visited the CN Tower Toronto and what we saw people are just clicking the picture and that movement a vlogger came there and starts asking the questions related to tower building and no body was sure about the history of this building because they did not read about it .

At the end i would say it has negative effect on Tourism.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a clear negative stance. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The explanation regarding social media validation is relevant, but the point about earning money from likes is less convincing and lacks depth. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task completion. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed analysis and ensure you meet the minimum word count to fully develop your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression using transition words like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover'. However, the flow is often mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'have the pictures on there', where the antecedent is ambiguous. The concluding sentence is very brief and lacks a summary of the main points discussed. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'good money', 'places', and 'things'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'tourists places' instead of 'tourist destinations' and 'clicking picture' instead of 'taking photographs'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions relevant to the topic of tourism and social media, while ensuring accurate word formation and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('its has negative trend'), article misuse, and incorrect verb tenses ('have been visited'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and spacing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, such as pluralisation and verb forms, will help you achieve a higher score.
