Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays most of the individuals are preferring to visit the well-known places take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place. This essay will examine the reasons why this will happen and why it is considered as a negative trend.
Commencing with the most prominent reason is the development of social media. With this, the most of tourism click a lot of photos and posted on the social media applications such as Instagram, Snapchat to get the more views of their pictures. For example, most people go outside and capture the photos of themselves without looking at the environment of the place. As a result, the new generation go backward in the knowledge of their historical places. Another reason worth considering is that accessibility of digital cameras and high-quality phones that capture the best photos. So, due to these reasons most of the people are preferred to visit the places just to take photographs of themselves. Thus, the most individuals are indulging in the technology and ignoring the eye-catching views of natural places.
Despite the aforementioned reason, it should be considered as a negative trend. Primarily, the tourism misses the culture of the place. To elaborate it, the people get busy in taking the photos rather than focus on the history of that place. It can be illustrated by the fact that in various religious places, the tourisms show their dedication towards capturing the moment by taking photos rather than worship the God. Consequently, they will not only unable to get the knowledge about the history of that place but also will unaware from their culture and traditions. Furthermore, they put their lives in danger while taking a best shot in the hilly areas where the taking photos are prohibited. Thus, the famous spots are spoiled by just taking the photos.
In conclusion, the development of social media and high-quality cameras are the main reason for this trend, I believe that it is a negative trend because it effects the culture of the well-known places and the new generation will unaware for their history.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding the loss of cultural knowledge is mentioned in both the second and third paragraphs. While the ideas are relevant, they could be more deeply explored with more specific examples beyond general mentions of 'religious places' or 'hilly areas'. The response covers all requirements, but the depth of analysis is limited, keeping it at a solid mid-level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'Commencing with', 'As a result', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'Despite the aforementioned reason' (which does not logically connect to the preceding paragraph). Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas feels slightly disjointed due to the repetitive nature of the arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the most of tourism' (should be 'most tourists'), 'get the more views' (should be 'gain more views'), and 'unaware from their culture' (should be 'unaware of their culture'). The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'indulging in the technology' and 'eye-catching views', but these are often used in slightly unnatural ways. A wider range of precise vocabulary is needed to move to a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('most of the individuals are preferring', 'the most individuals are indulging') and incorrect article usage ('the tourism', 'the history'). There are also issues with prepositional phrases and verb forms, such as 'will unaware' instead of 'will be unaware'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy.
